CD Pressing & Duplication

We now provide a variety of CD Pressing & Duplication services to suit all your needs, from the very basic short run promotional CDRs to mass produced shop ready products. We offer quite possibly the cheapest professional service in the UK with fast turnaround times.
Our reputation is built strictly on the recommendations of our clients, ranging from independent artists to the more renowned ones, PR & production companies, record labels. Every order received is treated with the same level of urgency to make sure you never miss those all-important deadlines, all at very competitive and affordable rates.
So if it is just 1 cd or a batch of 1000 we can meet your requests.

How long does each process take?

We normally expect to put a project into production within 24 hours, so discs that require no packaging will usually be ready for dispatch within 24/48 hrs depending on quantity.

Do you do minimum/maximum orders?

Strictly speaking, no. We print whatever quantity the client requires although for larger quantities it will be a longer turnaround.

Can my artwork cover the whole disc?

Yes. Our screen and offset disc prints are available without the indented ‘stacking ring’ enabling you to design an image that covers the disc from an outer diameter of 117mm to an inner circle of 21mm. Our ink-jet discs have a pre-defined area that holds the ink from an outer diameter of 117mm to an inner circle of 23mm.

What turnaround options are available for each technology?

As it does not require any film or plate making, Ink-jet printing is also the most flexible solution for urgent turnarounds from 24 hours to 5 days.

What printing methods to you use to print on discs?

  • Ink-jet CD Printing

Could you tell me what ink-jet printing means?

Ink-jet CD printing is ideal for printing multiple colours onto a specially prepared disc surface where there are photos / graphics and a quality up to 1440 dpi × 1440 dpi is required. All Ink-jet printed discs have a UV sealing lacquer applied to protect the printed surface and enhance the print appearance.

What packaging solutions do you offer?

We offer all common packaging types.
To give you a glimpse here is a non exhaustive list of options.

  • Clear Jewel Case:

What CD master types do you accept?

We accept CD masters in a variety of physical formats. You can either supply us a copy ready medium like a CD-R or non-encrypted CD Replica, USB Flash Drive, Hard Disc or via file upload to cd@tvrecords.co.uk. If you need any help please contact us via email to cd@tvrecords.co.uk.

How do I prepare my CD-ROM Master?

For CD–ROM we recommend that the Master CD-R or File(s) should be in compliance with Yellow Book Philips/Sony specifications and be prepared as follows:

  • Recorded as a Disc At Once single session mode
  • The data track format the master is Mode 1
  • Do not use CD-RW or DVD-RW discs
  • Use only new and high quality master media
  • Use lower recording speeds as it improves the readability of the disc
  • The discs must be free from dirt and scratches
  • Supply master in plastic case for better protection
  • Do not apply copy protection to the masters directly
  • Use only a special marker to write onto the disc surface
  • Do not write on the data side of the disc
  • Send us more than one copy of your master
  • Always keep a copy of your data – do not send your only copy

Whilst we test all incoming masters for viruses we also recommend that you perform a virus check using recently updated anti-virus software. If we receive a master which contains a virus we will destroy this securely, but please note that we are unable to return this to you.

Once you have burned your Master data onto a CD-R, check the disc’s functionality on as many different drivers and computers as possible. This will help you identify and troubleshoot any errors in your master preparation.

How do I prepare my CD-Audio Master?

For CD–Audio we recommend that the Master CD-R or File(s) should be in compliance with Sony / Phillips Red Book specifications made as follows:

  • Maximum CD Play time 79 minutes
  • Sampling frequency 44,1kHz
  • Pause before the first track must be 2 seconds minimum
  • Add CD Text if needed but test thoroughly
  • Supply separate track list in accordance with the below

The track list must contain the order, names and times of the individual audio tracks and total playing times. We also recommend specifying the lengths of gaps between the tracks. Should the CD contain text information you must state this in your documents (CD-Text, IRC Code, UPC/EAN disc code, CD+Graphics or Karaoke lyrics).

Once you have burned a CD Audio master, we recommend a test listening prior to sending it for production. We also recommend that you check items such as the CD-Text if it is required, as some devices do not display text correctly. This will help you identify and troubleshoot any errors in your master preparation.

If you are submitting WAV, AIFF, MP3 please contact us @ cd@tvrecords.co.uk once you have uploaded your files.
